Saturday, June 20
2:00 - 7:00pm Golf Tournament:
Enjoy an afternoon with your friends and colleagues
on a beautiful golf course of the Trophy Club. The registration cost
is $90 per person and includes greens fees, range balls, cart, and
transportation. Rental clubs are $35.
7:00 - 8:00pm NEHA Ice Breaker Reception: Get settled into your room and then come
mingle with NEHA's Board of Directors and your friends from afar. Enjoy
light hors d'oeuvres as you feel the anticipation of the events of
the next four days in the air. No charge.
Sunday, June 21
9:00 - 11:30am Awards Ceremony & Keynote
Session: The
Awards Ceremony honors the best in environmental health. Be inspired
by environmental health professionals and students doing outstanding
work in our field of practice. This is a morning of recognition and
inspiration you’re not going
to want to miss! This year’s keynote session will be offer
a response to the question raised at the 2008 AEC & Exhibition, “Who
Are We and Who Do We Want to Be!?” This exciting keynote session
will feature Dr. Howard Frumkin, MD, MPH, DrPH, from the National Center
of Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.
Dr. Frumkin will make the case for environmental health’s involvement
in sustainability.
11:45am - 1:30pm: Uniformed Services Business
Meeting & Luncheon: Those involved with NEHA's Uniformed
Services Affiliate will convene over lunch for their annual business
meeting. Cost is $23.
5:30 - 6:30pm American Academy of Sanitarians (AAS)
Wagner & USPHS Honor Awards Reception: National recognition for
those who have excelled in the profession will be given to the winners
of the John G. Todd, Edward (Ted) Moran, John C. Eason, and Davis Calvin
Wagner awards at this annual reception. No charge for this event.
6:00 - 9:00pm Exhibition Grand Opening & Party: Come and meet the exhibitors
and learn how they can be your partners in environmental health. There
will be food, fun, and the opportunity to do business and socialize
at this party. Included with most registrations.
Monday, June 22
11:30am - 2:45pm AAS Luncheon & Business
Meeting: AAS members are invited to participate in the annual
luncheon and business meeting to discuss plans for the upcoming year.
Cost is $49.
5:30 - 9:00pm Annual UL Event: Night at the Aquarium: NEHA conference attendees
will get private access to the Georgia Aquarium during the Annual UL
Event. The aquarium tells a global water story with more than 60 exhibits,
and is home to a state-of-the-art animal health facility that is the
only integration of an aquarium and a veterinarian teaching hospital.
The aquarium supports, conducts and leads research on environmental
and conservation issues. This exciting evening starts with access to
the exhibits from 5:30-7:30pm. From 7:00-9:00pm, enjoy hors d’ouevers
and a cash bar in the Atlantic Ballroom at the Aquarium. With UL's
generous sponsorship, cost is $15 for the first 300 registrations. Any
registrations beyond 300 will be handled by the NEHA office and priced
accordingly.
Tuesday, June 23
11:30am - 1:30pm Networking Luncheon: Enjoy a wonderful meal, meet new people, learn
new things, and visit with old friends at the Networking Luncheon.
Included with most registrations.
5:30 - 6:30pm Uniformed
Services Reception: Everyone is invited to the reception that
encourages networking between EH contemporaries working inside and
outside of the uniformed services. Meet the uniformed services section
speakers as well. No charge to attend.
Wednesday, June 24
7:00 - 9:30pm (Reception from 6:30 - 7:00pm) Presidents Banquet: Concluding the conference is this semi-formal
evening of excellent food and gathering with friends. Remarks from
NEHA’s new president, and the presentation of two distinctive
awards highlight the evening and wrap-up the conference. Included with most registrations.
