Continuing Education Requirements 

During the two-year credential period you must accumulate the appropriate number of continuing education contact hours:

HHS 15 Contact Hours
REHS/RS 24 Contact Hours

NEHA Pre-Approved 2015 Continuing Education Programs 

If your organization is sponsoring a course that you would like to submit for pre-approved continuing education credit, please submit this form to our office.

  • Pre-Approved CE Courses: List of NEHA Pre-Approved Continuing Education programs (both in-person and online).

  • NEHA e-Learning also has pre-approved CE courses online - and it's FREE for NEHA members! Additionally, continuing education courses completed through e-Learning will be automatically added to your account - no additional paperwork or submission forms to complete!

  • Food Safety Training
    Earn continuing education hours towards your NEHA credential with NEHA Food Safety Training!

    As a registered trainer with NEHA Food Safety Training, you can teach a food safety training class and earn a corresponding number of continuing education hours for each hour of your class – up to 10 hours per credentialing period! Teaching an 8-hour food manager course? Earn 8 continuing education hours! Teaching a 4-hour class to food handlers? Earn 4 hours! Please note that you must be both a registered trainer with NEHA Food Safety Training and hold a NEHA credential prior to teaching the class in order to earn contact hours towards your continuing education requirement.
