I-FIIT wants to…
Bring together industry and government to improve foodborne illness outbreak response
Identify industry’s roles and responsibilities during a foodborne illness incident or outbreak
Establish and implement control measures based on using model practices that rapidly and effectively prevent further transmission of illness This will make the investigation process as a whole more efficient for your establishment as well as for the public health agencies and the public.

Topics
are covered through a combination of lecture, question and answer
sessions and interactive group exercises. Discussions will include best
practices and local and state specific requirements and policies. Take
home items will include an I-FIIT manual along with various template
documents and resource materials. Upon
completion of the course, each attendee will be awarded with a
Certificate of Completion and 7.5 NEHA Continuing Credits.

Future I-FIIT Development
Beginning in 2012, NEHA will launch the development of a modified
version of I-FIIT targeted towards the manufacturing/processing
food industry audience. The workshop will aim to build stronger working
relationships between the manufacturing/processing food industry
professional and their appropriate regulatory officials. The workshop
will highlight the investigation process and identify roles and
responsibilities before, during and after a foodborne illness incident.
The proposed completion date for development is by the end of 2012. If
you would like to be informed of the development progress or are
interested in participating on the workgroup and the content
