ABOUT THE POSITION

The Knox County Health Department is seeking a qualified professional to direct all operations of the Health Protection Division. Assumes major responsibility for health protection services including environmental health services, infectious disease control, and emergency preparedness. Plans and directs programs according to state and local guidelines to protect and safeguard public health. Performs supervisory functions including staffing, training and orientating all Division staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A Master’s degree in a field related to environmental health, public health or closely related field preferred with 2-3 years practice experience. Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in the physical and/or biological sciences with at least four years of related experience in environmental health and supervisory experience. Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner preferred. The Department offers a competitive salary and a generous benefit package. Position open until filled.
