ABOUT THE POSITION

Serve your community by applying for the full time position. You will be responsible for enforcing various environmental health codes, County ordinances and adhering to state procedures and methods by inspecting, investigating and issuing notices of violation on regulated facilities. In addition, you will coordinate continuing education for our Environmental Health Staff and participate in maintaining their standardization in accordance with the FDA Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards.

The pay range for new hires will be within the first 20% of the range.

This position is normally scheduled to work Monday thru Friday, but will work occasional evenings and weekends and is responsible for responding during public health emergencies.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in environmental health or related field and a minimum of three years of previous experience conducting inspections/audits for a public health agency are required. A Registered Environmental Health Specialist license and knowledge of the FDA National Voluntary Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards is strongly desired.

Various chemical tests, digital thermometers, incubator, computer, printer, photo copier, fax machine, phone, calculator, thermal tape and flashlight.


WORKING CONDITIONS:
Standing for long periods, walking, sitting, driving, climbing stairs, kneeling, reaching above shoulders, exposure to aggressive individuals, exposure to chemicals and machinery, working outdoors in inclement weather, and general office environment.
