Monterey County's Environmental Health Bureau is seeking Registered Environmental Health Specialists to join our dynamic team of professionals to conduct inspections, outreach, investigations, and surveys in support of Federal, State and local environmental health laws and regulations.

Pass a pre-employment physical assessment, including a fitness test for the use of respirators, at the time of hire and pass the physical/fitness testing annually. Obtain certification as an Underground Storage Tank Inspector certified by the International Code Council (ICC) as required by Section 2715(j) of the California Code of Regulations within 180 days of assignment to inspecting storage tanks. Obtain certification as an Aboveground Petroleum Storage Tank Inspector certified by the CAL-EPA as
required by Section 25270.5(c) of the Aboveground Petroleum Storage Act. Obtain a valid certification as a Hazardous Materials Technician or Hazardous Materials Specialist from the
California Specialized Institute (CSTI), pursuant to California Government Code, Section 8574.20. Respond to Valid certification of registration as an Environmental Health Specialist issued by the State of California, Department of Health Services and Valid California Class C Driver's License.
