ABOUT THE POSITION

Under broad policy guidance and direction from the Board of Health, the performs executive and administrative duties pertaining to the operation of the Weber-Morgan Health Department and the delivery of comprehensive public health programs and services in the district; a senior leadership background and executive management experience is highly preferred. The position will plan, develop, direct and evaluate a wide variety of health programs, including, but not limited to, nursing, environmental health, clinic services, chronic disease, emergency preparedness and response, vital statistics and WIC; administer and enforce state and local health laws, regulations and standards; direct the investigation and control of epidemics, infectious and communicable disease outbreaks; administer all aspects of personnel management; oversee financial management and fiscal activities within the department, including budgets, accounting functions and audits; conduct community health assessments and quality improvement projects; develop and implement strategic goals and objectives; collect, analyze and evaluate data to determine effectiveness of effort, performance and outcome; and function as the Local Registrar of Vital Statistics. The position serves as the secretary to the Board of Health, and performs duties as required and directed by the Board. The position serves at the will and pleasure of the Board of Health, and is expected to live in Weber or Morgan County.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in public health or other disciple related to public health, public administration or business administration, and have at least five years of professional full-time public health experience, of which at least three years were in a senior level administrative capacity.
