ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clay County Public Health Center (CCPHC) is seeking to add an environmental health professional to its upper management team. The Section Chief of Environmental Health is responsible for supervision of staff that implement our Food Protection Program, Private Sewage Disposal Program, Pool Inspection Program, and growth opportunities arising from our recently completed community needs assessments and strategic plan.


Additionally the person chosen to lead this team will have a demonstrated ability in budgeting, ensuring quality assurance/improvement and compliance with local, state, and federal public health codes/regulations, and be able to utilize ICS during outbreak investigations and respond to other public health emergencies.

Proven skills in community assessment, coalition/team building, environmental health risk assessment, and performance management/quality improvement principles are also desired for this position.

We are located in Liberty MO, which is the Northeastern part of the Kansas City Metro area. Clay County (population 225,000), continues to experience rapid growth and offers access to a diverse mixture of urban, rural, and metropolitan opportunities and experiences including great schools and neighborhoods.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree in Public Health with 5 or more years of management experience in environmental public health programs, preferably at the local level. At a minimum the person chosen for this leadership position will have a bachelor's degree and 3 years management experience.
