Salary: $65,509.00 - $81,866.00 Annually
No. Hours/Week: Full-time



Under general direction, oversees, supervises, and coordinates Agency-wide safety programs, functions, and operations for the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority; develops and implements programs to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and occupational illnesses; analyzes new and existing jobs, processes, or systems to determine the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards; manages and oversees hazardous materials programs, assists and/or implements rail system emergency programs in coordination with local emergency responders; provides training events for fire and police; develops and recommends safety policies to upper management; coordinates assigned activities with other programs, Departments/Offices, and outside agencies; and provides administrative and technical support to the Manager Health, Safety and Emergency Management.



Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in environmental health, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or closely related field and five years of experience in health and safety program management and coordination including safety reviews, assessment and training functions in a medium to large organization; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Licenses or Certifications:
Possession of a valid Washington State Driver’s License.

Preferred Licenses or Certifications:

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist or Certified Safety Specialist with qualifications in Hazardous Materials Management
  • Master’s Degree in environmental health, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or closely related field
