Boulder County Public Health is currently accepting applications for the position of Water Quality Program Coordinator. This position coordinates and manages the Water Quality Program, which includes administration and oversight of the following activities and programs: onsite wastewater treatment systems (OWTS; also known as septic systems), storm water, water re-use, surface water and groundwater quality and quantity; water impacts from mines, mills, oil and gas development, and bio solids; Environmental Emergency Response Team (EERT); and other water quality-related activities. The program coordinator plays a major role in carrying out BCPH Environmental Health Division’s mission to protect, promote, and enhance the health and well-being of the public and the environment by assessing and prioritizing environmental health risks, promoting education and outreach opportunities, creating partnerships with the community and other agencies, developing and implementing effective interventions, and monitoring and evaluating program outcomes.

Work Location: Environmental Health, 3450 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80304

Please note that new employees start at or near the entry level salary range.



Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in physical, biological, or sanitary sciences or related field.


Experience: Three years of experience performing technical tasks in investigation of environmental health conditions, plus one year of supervision. Broad experience in a team approach to service delivery is preferred.
