Air Quality and Asthma: Impacts in Georgia
Environmental factors such as pollutants are asthmas triggers and are major contributors to asthma exacerbations. States must report on a county level for each of the six pollutants in the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Ambient Air Quality Standard. Using the results of this study, examine whether children living in non-attainment areas would experience higher asthma morbidity as measured by ER visits and hospitalization discharge rates than children from attainment areas.
