About the Position

The University of Findlay is seeking an experienced, dynamic environmental scientist for a full- time, tenure track full-time faculty position. The position will be an integral part of the University’s nationally-recognized, EHAC and ABET/ANSAC accredited, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Management Department, which offers bachelors of science, degree completion, and master’s degree programs both domestically and abroad. This position will join a growing department of six-full time and three part-time faculty who have a combined 250 years of industry and teaching experience.

The University of Findlay’s environmental program is the only bachelor’s degree program in the nation to be both ABET-ANSAC and EHAC accredited and the graduate program also holds EHAC accreditation. Instructional facilities dedicated industrial hygiene, ventilation and environmental science labs, a newly renovated faculty and student research lab, in addition to the All Hazards Training Center, which provides training to thousands of industry professionals each year.

The program is committed to student-centered education, professional development and scholarship, with a strong emphasis put on serving as a mentor and research support for undergraduate research fields.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses a Ph.D. degree in environmental science, or related discipline and professional experience in environmental sustainability. Candidates that are ABD will be considered but the degree must be conferred by the time of the appointment. Teaching expectations include undergraduate and graduate core and elective courses in the area of environmental health/environmental science and one or more undergraduate sustainability related courses.

Professional experience in multiple areas of environmental health related to the teaching assignment, specialized credentials in environmental health science, undergraduate- and graduate-level online teaching experience, preferred. Rank and salary are commensurate with credentials and qualifications
