About the Cover

What does it mean to recenter environmental health within One Health? This month’s cover article argues that environmental health has long provided the practical “how” of One Health by protecting human, animal, and environmental health through prevention, regulation, surveillance, and risk reduction. The authors call for greater recognition of environmental health as the discipline that operationalizes One Health—and for stronger investment in the workforce needed to put that vision into practice.
