Student Opportunities at AEC

Poster Submissions 

Students are encouraged to present their research as a poster at the 2023 AEC in New Orleans, Louisiana or virtually. We are seeking posters in the following topic areas: 

  • Climate & Health 
  • Data & Technology 
  • Emergency Preparedness & Response 
  • Focused Populations 
  • Food Safety 
  • General Environmental Health 
  • Healthy Communities 
  • Infectious & Vectorborne Diseases 
  • Water Quality 
  • Workforce & Leadership 

Posters will be displayed in the Exhibit Hall during the Exhibition Grand Opening Reception Monday, July 31 and all-day Tuesday, August 1. Poster presenters are encouraged to network with attendees in the Poster Hall during the Exhibition Grand Opening Reception. Accepted Posters will be notified by May 19 along with additional details on what to expect. The deadline to submit a poster is May 12, 2023.

Student Reception 

All registered students are invited to a Student Reception Tuesday, August 1 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Fulton Alley for bowling, food, drinks and networking opportunities. Come share your insights (and business card) with environmental health students at this casual event.  

Professional Headshots 

Headshots will be provided exclusively to students at the National Environmental Public Health Internship Program (NEPHIP) booth in the Exhibit Hall. Come dressed to impress Tuesday, August 1 and get a professional headshot.

Educational Sessions 

The Workforce & Leadership track will feature sessions relevant for students, including poster presentation winners from the Association of Environmental Health Academic Programs.
