The Journey Into the Future Points Upstream

In a time when we can't solve today's environmental health challenges with the same thinking and approaches we used yesterday, it is imperative that our profession look "upstream" to form new partnerships and collaborations. Working with entities such as healthcare providers, policy makers, and elected officials is critical to the future of our profession. This month's column explores this upstream journey. It also provides examples that support the need for environmental health–healthcare partnerships that can enable us to better protect the health, safety, and security of our families, neighborhoods, and communities.
