Higher Consumption of Air, Water, and Food
Children consume more air, water, and food per body weight than other age groups
Children breathe more air, drink more water, and eat more food on a pound-for-pound basis than adults do.
This places them at a higher risk for:
- Exposure to a greater level of ground-level air pollution
- Pesticides and contaminants in food
- Contaminants in drinking and recreational waters
