InnovationNEHA Board Approves Policy Statement Focused on Enhancing Environmental Health Through Research and Innovations

The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) Board of Directors approved a new policy statement on October 16, 2020: NEHA Policy Statement on Research and Innovations That Enhance Environmental Health Science and Practice. NEHA advocates for national, state, and local policies, regulations, research, and resources that will enhance the ability of environmental health professionals to contribute to and benefit from advances in environmental health science and practice. Such advances might be due to new and emerging technologies and ideas that enhance the ability to protect public health. Therefore, it is important for NEHA to interact with, participate in, and even influence the processes and systems associated with research, development, and innovation.

The policy statement provides a list of policies and actions that NEHA supports, as well as a table that lists examples of environmental health inventions and innovations and the associated public health impacts.
