Support NEHA on Colorado Gives Day
The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) invites you all to support the NEHA/AAS Scholarship Fund on Colorado Gives Day, December 8, 2020.
Community First Foundation and FirstBank present Colorado Gives Day, an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving. The event is powered by ColoradoGives.org, a year-round, online giving platform. Donors can easily search for our profile on the site and make safe and secure donations.
“We’re excited to participate in and be a beneficiary of Colorado Gives Day,” said Dr. David T. Dyjack, NEHA CEO. “Donations will benefit those exceptional students who struggle to pay for housing, tuition, and fees associated with lengthy, rigorous science programs. Our goal is to raise $10,000 this year, which will make a meaningful difference in the lives of deserving students.”
$1 Million Incentive Fund
Community First Foundation and FirstBank each contributed $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund, one of the largest gives-day incentive funds in the country. Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day receives a portion of the fund, which increases the value of every dollar donated.
To increase awareness of our organization’s goal, we will be sharing stories throughout our social networks, encouraging supporters to back our future environmental health professionals by providing what they can do to dramatically reduce student debt. These contributions will make it possible for new graduates to work in modestly paid local government jobs, as opposed to having to secure large salaries in the for-profit sector to service student loans.
Community First Foundation, a leading foundation dedicated to fueling the power of community to drive positive change, and FirstBank, Colorado’s largest locally owned bank, have partnered to present Colorado Gives Day for the past 8 years. By making fundraising simple for nonprofits and giving easy for donors, it is one the most successful events of its kind in the nation. Last year, $39.6 million was raised for Colorado nonprofits in just 24 hours.
Support us in reaching our goal of $10,000 and Colorado Gives guarantees a multiplied impact! By contributing to this campaign, you make it possible for new graduates to work in modestly paid local government jobs, as opposed to having to secure large salaries in the for-profit sector to service student loans.
Incorporated in 1937, NEHA has offices located in Denver, Colorado, and Washington, DC. The original impetus behind the creation of a national professional society for environmental health practitioners was the desire by professionals of that day to establish a standard of excellence for this developing profession.
We currently serve 6,000 members to advance the environmental health and protection professional for the purpose of providing a healthful environment for all. In addition to maintaining excellent standards of practice and testing for its credentialing programs, we provide training and resources for continuing education through online courses and products, deliver an annual conference; foster networking and career growth, and publish the widely-respected peer-reviewed Journal of Environmental Health.
We are governed by a 14-member board of directors and benefit from various committees and technical advisors who serve as subject matter experts across the nation. We employ approximately 40 paid professionals dedicated to providing quality programs to our membership.
