Environmental Stormwater Supervisor 

About the Position

The  Environmental Stormwater Supervisor directs the Maricopa County Storm Water pollution prevention program, to ensure compliance with state- issued permit. The incumbent is a technical specialist who coordinates activities such as a construction plan review and  inspection program, a regulatory enforcement program, storm  water management requirements for County Departments, education of County employees and  the general public,  and  state and  federally-mandated data gathering and reporting requirements. The incumbent provides program leadership, management and personnel supervision.  Work requires considerable exercise of initiative and independent judgment in coordinating program activities with County management and Departments, cooperating local governmental agencies, regulated entities and state regulators.


Bachelor of Science degree in an Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Engineering field or a closely related field and four (4) years' experience in environmental compliance, water quality, or water related engineering.

Registered Sanitarian in good standing with the Arizona Department of Health Services OR registered with the National Environmental Health Association

(NEHA) as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian

(REHS/RS) OR a Certification by the National Storm Water Center as a Certified Storm Water Inspector-Municipal. Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license. Must be a Registered Sanitarian in good standing with the Arizona Department of Health Services within one (1) year of hire.
