October 18, 2017

NEHA is excited to announce its third virtual conference, IDEA EH: Integrating Data to Empower Advancement Virtual Conference taking place February 14 and 15, 2018.

IDEA EH Virtual Conference

IDEA EH is designed to enhance the knowledge of environmental health professionals of data use and to provide an opportunity to learn about existing resources, innovative solutions, and successful programs around data-driven decision making. It is also an opportunity to bring professionals together in a unique virtual environment to exchange information and discover new solutions. “Providing an online forum for environmental health professionals to share and learn about informatics is an important capacity building component for NEHA. We look forward to the virtual conference and the opportunities it brings for enabling EH professionals with resources and ideas,” stated Dr. Sandra Whitehead, Director of Program and Partnership Development.

After the success of NEHA’s Enhancing Environmental Health Knowledge (EEK): Vectors and Public Health Pests and EH2O Recreational Waters virtual conferences, the virtual conference platform was recognized as an effective tool for presenting education and connecting environmental health professionals in the field. IDEA EH will include auditorium and poster presentations, a networking lounge, and an exhibitor lounge. Exhibiting partners include National Association of County and City Health Officials, American Public Health Association, Public Health Informatics Institute, CDC Environmental Public Health Tracking Network, Joint Public Health Informatics Taskforce, and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials.

If you are interested in being a presenter, please submit an abstract by December 8. Potential topic areas could include data standardization, best practices for utilizing local EH data, strategies for empowering public data-use, the impact of data-driven decision making, and more.
