Food Safety Specialist

About the Position

Campus Dining Services (CDS) within Housing & Dining Services invites applications for the Food Safety Specialist position. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and administering of associated trainings related to all aspects of food safety for all operations within CDS, consisting of approximately 3 million meals annually served in 14 operations across campus. Additionally, this position is in charge of verifying food safety HACCP systems and ensuring correction of out of compliance items through collaboration with the food safety team, culinary team, and associated CDS operations and administration.


What we require:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
    • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s Degree with at least five years of experience in developing and managing food safety programs and audits in large production settings may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum three years’ large institutional foodservice experience.
  • Current status as a NEHA Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) or equivalent.
  • Current National Restaurant Association ServSafe certification appropriate to the work assignment, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

What we’d like you to have:

  • Hands-on culinary experience in a high-volume foodservice operation.
  • A degree or college level coursework in Environmental Health or Food
