Training & Operations Coordinator

About the Position

POSITION OVERVIEW
The NEHA Entrepreneurial Zone (EZ) develops and coordinates instructor-led and online training courses for environmental health industry and regulatory professionals. The Operations & Training Coordinator manages the logistics for all EZ department projects and trainings. This position also manages the budget for a federal grant award and the daily operations of the department.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Training Logistics (70%)
  • Coordinates costs, locations, attendees and trainers for online and in-person trainings workshops.
  • Manages onsite logistics for in-person trainings.
  • Coordinates logistics for presenting/exhibiting at conferences.
Daily Operations (30%)
  • Tracks spending for department and cooperative agreement budget.
  • Prepares monthly and yearly reports for department and funding agencies.
  • Provides oversight for various department projects.

This position travels up to 25% of the year to attend training workshops, meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND TRAITS

  • At least two years’ experience coordinating operations or logistics and/or managing budgets and daily operations for a department or section.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Project management experience and/or certification.
  • Experience coordinating travel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to pull/push/lift large travel cases.
  • Ability to frequently lift 25 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to continuously stand.
  • Ability to stoop for extended periods of time
