Food Safety Specialist
About the Position
The Food Safety Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and administering of associated trainings related to all aspects of food safety for all operations within Campus Dining Services, consisting of approximately 3 million meals annually served in 14 operations across campus. Additionally, this position is in charge of verifying food safety HACCP systems and ensuring correction of out of compliance items through collaboration with the food safety team, culinary team, and associated CDS operations and administration.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least three years’ large institutional food service experience.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s Degree with at least five years of experience in developing and managing food safety programs and audits in large production settings may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Current ServSafe certification appropriate to the work assignment, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
