Consumer Protection Program Manager

About the Position

The Consumer Protection Manager oversees administrative and operational functions of the retail food, water quality lab, body art, pool, and school programs at Mesa County Public Health (MCPH). This position ensures quality programs are being administered in our community. Responsibilities include budget development and administration, overseeing employee field and office activities, preparing for program audits, development and submission of program records and reports as required by local, state and/or federal authorities or non-governmental grantors. As a member of the Leadership Team at MCPH this position plays a vital role in developing and advocating for the strategic vision of the agency. Previous regulatory and management experience are highly desirable as well as experience with the 2013 FDA Food Code.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience/training
Master's degree preferred
3+ years inspection experience preferred
Demonstrable management or supervision experience required
FDA Food Code knowledge highly desirable

Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:
A valid Colorado driver's license with a responsible driving record.
Field specific preferred (examples include CP-FS, REHS, etc.)
