Director of Environmental Health

About the Position

Excellent full-time career opportunity working as the Director of Environmental Health for Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties. The Director plans, organizes, and oversees all environmental health programs within the department. The EH Director must exercise extensive skill in planning and evaluating environmental health programs, enforcing federal, state, and local environmental health laws, and in working with agency administration, the Board of Health, outside agencies and the public. This is an administrative position requiring oversight of Environmental Health Specialists, as well as participation in the development and oversight of the annual department budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, natural sciences, engineering and/or public health required. A Master’s Degree in administration, engineering or public health is preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Environmental Health is required. Must be currently registered as a Sanitarian in Michigan or an REHS with the National Environmental Health Association, or the ability to obtain registration within two years. Must possess a current valid driver’s license and be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.
