About the Position

The Public Health Program in the College of Graduate Studies at Midwestern University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position at the rank of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, available in 2020/2021 academic year. This position is supported by a competitive salary and benefit package fully funded by the institution. Applicants must have, at a minimum, earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching future healthcare professionals in an interdisciplinary environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

The Public Health Program is based at the Glendale, Arizona campus but enrolls students at Midwestern University’s Downers Grove, Illinois campus as well. Therefore, this position can be based at either campus. The successful candidate will participate in the development and instruction of online and traditional courses in public health program administration and policy development within a newly established MPH program in Global One Health for osteopathic medical, veterinary, dental, pharmacy, optometry, and other health science students. Candidates with professional credentials in any of these healthcare areas are especially encouraged to apply, but candidates with a terminal public health degree and at least two years of experience working in relevant public health settings will be given preference. This position involves a significant amount of teaching with highly motivated healthcare professions graduate students in an interdisciplinary environment, but also offers the opportunity to develop a strong research program or to engage in other scholarly activities. A research start-up package can be made available to qualified candidates if justified.
