Environmental Health Manager
About the Position
The Environmental Health Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for the Health Protection Division in Broomfield’s Public Health and Environment Department. You will oversee a variety of services related to the environmental health and emergency preparedness and response operations for Broomfield.
You will serve as the division leader and are committed to innovation, creativity, service excellence, and transforming local government through leading ideas and practices. You will serve as a key designer, promoter, motivator, and catalyst for the alignment of culture with organizational values within the department.
The Environmental Health Manager performs professional, managerial and leadership duties relating to planning, directing, organizing, implementing, and coordinating all programs, materials, sites and activities of the Public Health Protection Division.
You will work in partnership with other employees, departments/divisions, external entities, and the public in delivering effective and innovative services. Provide holistic services to internal and external customers by seeking ways to integrate programs or services provided by other departments, divisions, and external entities.
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, environmental health, public health administration, or a related field.
At least two years of increasingly responsible leadership experience in environmental health, emergency preparedness and response or public health, preferably in a public health agency. This experience must also include program development and implementation, policy and procedure development, budget and program development, quality assurance, high level report writing and presentations, and leadership/supervision of programs and personnel, which demonstrates the ability to perform the Essential Required Tasks.
An equivalent combination of training and experience to include a Bachelor's degree in public health, environmental health, public administration and at least-five years of progressively responsible experience as noted above.
