Environmental Health Specialist

About the Position

Lewis and Clark County Public Health is hiring an Environmental Health Specialist to work in the Licensed Establishment Program, performing inspections of licensed food facilities, public swimming pools, trailer courts, public accommodations, daycares, group homes, and campgrounds.


The  knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a four (4) year degree in biology or physical sciences, with at least 45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours in the physical and biological health sciences with specific courses in biology, chemistry, and microbiology. Successful applicants for this position are required to have certification as a Registered Sanitarian with the State of Montana at time of employment, or must obtain certification within 1 year of date of hire.
