Noise is defined as an unwanted sound and it has been well established that excessive noise causes serious harm to human health. This month’s column takes a look at the health impacts of noise and what environmental health professionals can do to protect the health of their communities from noise. It also stresses the importance of listening to the people in our communities to identify how we can protect them better.
