NEHA Leads Food Safety Discussions at International Food Safety Conference

October 30, 2024

Rance Baker, NEHA Entrepreneurial Zone Department director, represented NEHA’s dedication to global food safety advancements and commitment to fostering skilled and adaptable workforces in environmental health by leading two pivotal sessions at the recent 2024 Dubai International Food Safety Conference. Baker's first session on building a competency-based workforce emphasized structured skill development to enhance regulatory effectiveness and compliance. In the second session on risk-based inspections, Baker contributed to discussions on streamlining inspections through data-informed risk assessments, helping reduce potential foodborne risks across the supply chain.

The conference, themed “Future Foresight in Food Safety,” brought together more than 3,000 food safety industry experts to discuss proactive strategies for food safety such as leveraging technologies like AI, data analytics, and digital food testing systems to build resilient, safe food systems. Aligned with World Food Day, the event emphasized a collective approach to food security with topics including climate change impacts, sustainable nutrition, and regulatory innovation to mitigate global food safety challenges.
