National Environmental Health Association Seeking Environmental Health Professionals for Program Committees

August 5, 2024

Denver, CO – The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) is currently seeking applications from environmental health professionals to participate as members of a program committee. There are currently five program committees accepting applications.

“Being part of a program committee is an excellent way to share your expertise and give back to the profession,” said Chris Walker, MSEH, REHS, NEHA Senior Program Analyst. “It’s the people on the ground doing the work each day that can provide the best advice on what is needed.”

Committees are comprised of public and private sector environmental health professionals working in partnership to:

  • Identify and recommend training gaps, needs of the profession, and emerging issues
  • Identify best practices, successes, and challenges for environmental health professionals
  • Guide, give input, and participate in the development of projects or programming
  • Promote and disseminate materials and resources

Committee members must be NEHA members in good standing. All members are asked to participate for two years and generally dedicate 1-3 hours per month to committee work, although it can vary depending on the specific work within the committee.

Applications for the following committee programs are open August 5 through September 5, 2024.

  • Informatics
  • Vector
  • Rural and Frontier
  • Food Safety
  • Private Water and Decentralized Wastewater
